My journey towards becoming a reflexologist in South Norfolk and Suffolk started when I got married and had children. Following the birth of my second child, I realised it was necessary to change my working lifestyle. Being in an office no longer suited me, and one day, someone suggested I should enter the care sector.
My initial thought was: “Are you mad?” The idea of becoming a carer had never occurred to me, but I decided to give it a go, and I haven’t looked back since. Looking after people with restricted mobility from their homes is a deeply rewarding experience. I have learned so much, such as Moving and Handling, which is very important for delivering effective mobile reflexology.
I do two nights and five mornings a week as a carer, and it was during one of these visits that my reflexology obsession started. While massaging a client with arthritis, they remarked on how therapeutic my hands were and insisted that I should make a career with them! I took his advice and worked on becoming a fully qualified MAR reflexologist in South Norfolk and Suffolk, along with becoming a reiki practitioner as well.
Seven years have passed since I became a qualified reflexologist, and I love what I do so much. Making people feel better is such a joy, which is why I continue to build my portfolio of skills to this day.
